Wrinkle relaxers in Boston
The anti-frozen approach.
Botox® and Dysport® treatments for patients across the greater Boston area, built around one idea: softening should never cost you your expression. Every plan starts with your anatomy, not a standard dose.
The art of retaining natural movement
For decades, anti-wrinkle injections have been notoriously known for creating perfectly smooth faces at the sacrifice of eliminating natural expression, until now.
Our careful assessment of facial anatomy and individualized dosing makes our wrinkle treatments effective at softening facial lines while preserving the movements that communicate warmth, confidence, and personality.

Before You Book
-
You're likely a good candidate if you're noticing forehead lines, frown lines, or crow's feet that stick around even when your face is relaxed — or if you'd rather soften those lines than erase your expression along with them.
A few things rule treatment out: pregnancy or breastfeeding, certain neuromuscular conditions, and any active and unmanaged skin disorders, including active infection. Your consultation covers your health history and muscle patterns to confirm the right approach for you, including which of Botox® or Dysport® makes more sense for your goals.
Hooded eyes or a lower brow line aren't a reason to skip treatment, either. Forehead and brow injections can shift brow position, and generic dosing is what causes added heaviness — not the treatment itself. Facial anatomy varies widely, including brow shape and lid structure more common in Asian faces, and your plan accounts for that specifically rather than defaulting to one protocol for every patient.
-
Upper face: forehead lines, the "11s," crow's feet.
Lower face: lip flip, masseter reduction (a slimmer jawline, and relief for teeth grinding/jaw tension), chin dimpling, the Nefertiti lift for jaw and neck.
Also commonly treated: excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis) at the underarms, palms, or scalp.
What you actually need is decided at your consultation, not assumed in advance.

Treatment by Facial Area
Upper face
FOREHEAD LINES, 11s & CROW'S FEET
Many patients worry that treating forehead wrinkles, frown lines (11s), crow's feet, or under-eye wrinkles means sacrificing natural expression. In reality, expertly performed wrinkle relaxer treatments are designed to soften the signs of aging, not your whole demeanor.
Lower face
LIP FLIP, MASSETER SLIMMING, NEFERTITI LIFT, DAO’S
Sometimes looking more refreshed isn't about adding volume.
Many patients are surprised to learn that certain lower face concerns aren't caused by volume loss alone. Downturned mouth corners, a square-shaped jawline, loss of jawline definition, or an upper lip that disappears when smiling can often be improved through strategic muscle relaxation.
Whether it's a subtle lip flip, DAO treatment for frown lines and mouth corners, or a Nefertiti Lift to refine the jawline and neck, these treatments are designed to restore balance—not create obvious change.
What to Expect & Your Recovery
Treatment time: 15-30 minutes, no anesthesia needed.
Right after: mild redness or small bumps are normal, usually gone within 30 minutes to an hour.
Same day: skip rubbing the area, avoid lying flat for a few hours, hold off on hard exercise, and keep the skin clean.
Days 3-5: first signs of softening.
Days 10-14: full results visible. Adjustments can be made after 2 weeks.
How long it lasts: typically 3-4 months before gradually fading back.

FAQS
-
Wrinkle relaxers (also known as neuromodulators/neurotoxins) are an aesthetic umbrella term for a chemical derived from a purified protein that temporarily reduces the activity of targeted muscles. By relaxing specific muscles responsible for repeated facial expressions, these treatments can soften the appearance of dynamic wrinkles or shrink overused muscles.
The treatment has been extensively studied and used in both cosmetic and medical settings for decades. When administered by a qualified provider, wrinkle relaxers offer a predictable, temporary way to reduce unwanted facial lines while maintaining a natural-looking appearance and expression.
-
Yes, though for the vast majority of patients, Dysport® is primarily used. In our experience it takes effect faster and gives more room to fine-tune the dose to your specific muscles and goals. Botox® is still available and occasionally the better fit depending on the area or your history with it, but Dysport® is where we usually start.
-
Most clients enjoy visible results for 3–5 months, depending on the area treated and how their body metabolizes the product. Regular maintenance can help extend results and prevent deeper line formation over time.
-
No. At Clemens Face + Body, we specialize in subtle, refined results. Our approach is tailored to your unique anatomy, with conservative, measured dosing that enhances your natural features—never masks them. You’ll still look like yourself—just more rested and refreshed.
-
No. These treatments are often called “lunchtime procedures” for a reason—you can return to your normal activities immediately after. Some minor swelling or pinpoint redness is possible, but typically resolves within hours.
-
Yes, a meaningful number of patients specifically choose to see Jo for this. Brow shape, lid crease, skin thickness, and jaw/masseter prominence often differ in ways that generic, one-protocol dosing doesn't account for. Treatment planning here starts with your specific anatomy, not a default template.
-
When administered by a qualified and experienced medical professional, wrinkle relaxers have a strong safety profile and have been used in both cosmetic and medical settings for decades. In fact, these medications are among the most extensively studied aesthetic treatments available today.
-
You may begin to notice gradual improvements in wrinkles within 3 to 5 days, with full results visible around 14 days after treatment. For jawline slimming, results are more gradual, and significant results are seen after 30 days.
-
A good time to start is when expression lines begin to linger even after your face is at rest—or if you feel your facial expressions are creating deeper creases over time. Some patients also choose to start earlier if they have a naturally expressive face and want to prevent lines from setting in. The goal isn’t to freeze movement, but to soften repetitive muscle activity before wrinkles become etched.

We price per unit a $14/unit and also offer packages for patients to save money.
Typical treatments range from $300–$700 depending on area treated and dosing required. Certain areas, such as the masseters and lower-face are priced at a fixed cost. -
No, not when it's planned around your specific anatomy. Brow and forehead injections can shift brow position, but that's a dosing/technique issue, not an inevitable outcome — your provider accounts for lid shape and brow height (including patterns more common in Asian faces) before treating.

Come back and talk to us. Dosing here is conservative and built around your anatomy from the start, so significant overcorrection is rare, but if something needs adjusting, that follow-up is part of the process, not an extra ask.
