Collagen Stimulators
Lift without volume. Rebuild without filler.
Collagen stimulators like Sculptra® and Radiesse® don't work like traditional filler. Instead of adding volume directly, they prompt your body to rebuild the collagen it's already lost, restoring firmness and structure gradually, from within.
They're ideal if your face feels like it's slowly losing resilience and structure: A subtle softening or "melting" effect that's harder to pinpoint than a single hollow or fold. The result is your own facial support that has been rebuilt.
Sculptra® vs. Radiesse®: What's The Difference?
Both of these treatments are considered ‘biostimulatory’ injectables, meaning that they work beneath the skin to activate your own collagen production rather than physically filling space the way traditional dermal filler does. Where they differ is in their timing and thickness.
Sculptra® works gradually and diffusely and comes in powder-form that is diluted with sterile water. Once injected into tissue, these Sculptra particles signal a controlled inflammatory response to start building collagen and elastin.
Sculptra® results build over several weeks as collagen regenerates, making it well suited for broader volume loss and overall skin quality. This is the ideal treatment for patients who want a slow, natural progression rather than an immediate change.
Radiesse® provides more immediate structural support in addition to stimulating collagen and comes in a thicker paste-like injectable. Its goal is to marry the aesthetic benefits of tissue volumizing with collagen generation.
Radiesse® results are both immediate and gradual, which makes it especially effective when patients need contour, lift, or definition sooner, in addition to improving skin quality over time.
What Collagen Stimulators Are Used For
Gradual softening of etched-in lines
Thin, crepey skin
Subtle, whole-face volume restoration
Long-term collagen rebuilding, not just replacement
Lower-face support and non-surgical tightening (jawline, jowls)
Structural improvement for patients who want firmness back without added puffiness
Before & After
Pricing
Each collagen stimulator treatment starts at $850 per vial or syringe. Total investment depends on the number of vials/syringes needed to appropriately address volume loss and the degree of structural support your plan calls for (because these treatments are highly individualized, pricing varies by treatment area and goals).
Your Provider
Every visit is handled personally by Jo Sulistio, a board-certified NP who specializes in aesthetic medicine, with a clinical background in endocrinology and dermatology within internal medicine.
Jo’s background plays a vital role in understanding internal skin aging and supports her ability to predict how your skin will respond even before the result is visible. Getting that prediction right is what separates a subtle, structural improvement from an overdone one.
FAQS
-
Rather than occupying space beneath the skin the way traditional filler does, collagen stimulators activate your body's own collagen production. Over several weeks, this rebuilds skin thickness, structure, and elasticity from within — a slower process than filler, but one that builds your own support rather than adding to it.
-
No. They can meaningfully improve facial structure, skin quality, and age-related volume loss, but they don't address significant skin laxity or advanced aging changes the way surgery does. Think of them as non-surgical maintenance and gradual rejuvenation, not a surgical substitute.
-
Not in the way hyaluronic acid filler is. Because they work by stimulating your own collagen rather than adding a dissolvable substance, they can't simply be reversed once placed. That's exactly why conservative planning and experienced technique matter more here than with traditional filler.
-
Most patients need a series of 2–3 sessions spaced several weeks apart, though this depends on your anatomy, degree of volume loss, and goals. Treatment plans are always individualized rather than templated.
-
Results typically last 12–24 months, sometimes longer — meaningfully longer than most traditional fillers, since you're rebuilding structure rather than maintaining an added volume.
-
Both are considered safe when performed with appropriate technique and patient selection, but they behave differently in the tissue and carry different considerations. A thorough assessment and a clear understanding of your anatomy matter regardless of which product is used.
-
Filler restores volume by occupying space directly. Collagen stimulators work more gradually, activating your body's own collagen to rebuild thickness, structure, and elasticity over time. Many patients benefit from a combination of both, depending on anatomy and goals.
