Facial balancing with fillers in Boston
Lose less of you
Facial changes rarely happen overnight. Instead, they creep in gradually until one day, you catch your reflection and realize something feels different. Not enough to consider surgery, but enough that your face no longer reflects the energy, confidence, and vitality you still feel inside.
Facial balancing is a thoughtful, full-face approach using dermal fillers to restore harmony, support, and proportion. The goal isn't to change how you look, but rather to help your features feel more aligned, refreshed, and authentically you.
Facial Balancing: Before & After
Youthful energy throughout motherhood.
Motherhood has a way of changing the face in subtle ways. For this patient, we used a personalized combination of dermal fillers, wrinkle relaxers, and skin boosters to restore lost volume, soften smile lines, and brighten the eyes. The goal wasn't to change her appearance, bur rather to help her look vibrant and energized during a major life stage.
Facial balancing for her bridal era and beyond.
Wanting to look like the best version of herself for her wedding day—and well beyond it—we focused on subtle structural refinement through chin and jawline enhancement paired with soft lip filler. The result is improved lower-face balance, sharper facial proportions, and gentle lip enhancement that photographs beautifully while still feeling entirely natural and recognizable.
Defying gravity & delaying surgery
For this patient, the goal wasn't to look different, it was to address the gradual changes that come with time. As facial tissues descend and the jawline loses definition, many women begin exploring surgical options but aren't ready for the commitment or downtime. Using strategically placed cheek, chin, and jawline filler, along with wrinkle relaxers to the forehead and neck, we restored support, improved lower-face definition, and created a naturally lifted appearance that still feels entirely like her.
The end of: "You look tired”
Some people seem to hear the same comment over and over: "You look tired." For this patient, hollowing through the under-eyes, a flatter mid-face, and a recessed chin created an appearance of fatigue that didn't reflect how she actually felt. Using thoughtful cheek and under-eye support, paired with chin and jawline filler, we restored balance, structure, and light to the face.
Enhancement you can’t quite place
This patient was already radiant—our strategy was simply to help preserve it. Through gentle mid-face and chin filler, soft lip definition, and strategic wrinkle treatments to her forehead and frown lines, we restored early volume loss and supported her natural features. The result? A refreshed, elegant version of herself with longevity built in.
Slimmed, structured, and softly defined
Fearing that she was losing her ‘femininity’ after childbirth, we addressed mid-face flatness, lower-face heaviness, and subtle asymmetry through a tailored plan that included cheek and chin filler, jawline refinement, and soft lip filler. Twice-yearly wrinkle treatments to the masseters and brow area completed this elegant facial transformation, delivering harmony without harsh angles.
The 24/7 ‘no makeup’ makeup look
All she wanted was to look effortlessly put together, even on her busiest days. For her, we addressed under-eye hollowness, mid-face volume loss, and deepening smile lines and nasolabial folds with thoughtful facial balancing, while wrinkle relaxers softened areas of tension and refined her jawline.
A subtle lip enhancement completed the transformation. The result is the aesthetic equivalent of the perfect no-makeup makeup look.

Hyaluronic acid is a substance that is naturally found in the layers of our skin. Its properties provide plump, hydration, bounce, and glow to our skin appearance. Unfortunately, with the natural aging process, our amounts deplete over time, starting in our 20s. This can create facial sagging, skin folds, and loss of support.
Fillers are biocompatible gels that contain bonded (or cross-linked) hyaluronic acid chains. When injected in layers of the face, they can reintroduce lost volume, resupport tissue, and can enhance facial definition and contour.
-
Dermal filler longevity depends on the product used, the area treated, your metabolism, and the amount of movement in the area. In general, most hyaluronic acid fillers last anywhere from 6–18 months (sometimes longer). Areas with more movement, such as the lips, tend to metabolize filler more quickly, while structural areas like the cheeks or jawline may maintain results longer.
-
In majority of cases, no. The longevity of facial balancing results depends on the areas treated, the type of filler used, individual metabolism, and your long-term aesthetic goals. While some patients choose to maintain their results with small touch-ups every 1-2 years, others may go several years before needing additional treatment.
-
Dermal fillers can address a variety of common facial concerns related to aging, facial structure, and volume loss. Common areas treated include mid-face volume loss, hollow under-eyes, nasolabial folds, marionette lines, lower face lines, early jowling, and recessed chins.
-
Results from dermal filler are often visible immediately after treatment, though mild swelling or bruising can temporarily affect the appearance during the first several days. Most patients see their final, more refined result within 2-4 weeks as the filler settles and swelling resolves.
-
Minor bruising, bleeding, discomfort, soreness, and mild pain are commonly expected with injections.
-
No, dermal filler migration is not inevitable and is often related to factors such as injection technique, product selection, placement, anatomy, and overfilling. When filler is placed conservatively, strategically, and in appropriate areas, it can remain stable and integrate well within the tissue for long periods of time.
-
The “pillow face” appearance is typically caused by overfilling, poor product placement, or repeatedly adding filler without reassessing the face as a whole. Preventing this comes down to taking a conservative, anatomy-based approach focused on structure, balance, and restraint.
-
Yes — unlike a permanent tattoo, most hyaluronic acid fillers can be dissolved quickly and effectively using an enzyme called hyaluronidase. While the goal is always to create balanced, natural-looking results from the start, filler offers the reassurance of being adjustable and reversible when needed.
Dissolving may be a separate visit and cost.
-
This will vary based on the areas that were treated, but generally, we tell patients to expect a downtime range from 3 days to up to 2 weeks. Common side effects like temporary redness and irritation, bruising, and swelling can occur in the first 3 days post-visit. For the most part, patients can return to their regular routine after 2-3 days.
-
Filler injections can cause discomfort and soreness, and as a result, a small amount of injectable numbing is given prior to treatment. Many filler brands also contain Lidocaine pre-mixed into the syringe, producing more comfort and ease.
